Meet Adam, Dir. of Maintenance

Claudia

Adam has been a Landfare Ltd. team member since 2012. Previously he worked at other landscape companies but found his work home with Landfare. (While Adam avoids being in front of the camera, he did take this photo!)

Adam says the best parts of his job are the relationships with the owner and other staffers, and that he is consistently challenged to contribute to client satisfaction. He appreciates Landfare’s culture of “elevating those around you,” and the optimism, positivity and support he receives everyday.

Advance Planning Pays Off

To get lovely bountiful beds of spring flowers you need to plan and plant today. In this zone, you can plant until a hard freeze, so you still have time.

Here are a few tips to consider:

  • Decide on an existing planting bed you want to use or design a new bed.
  • Select bulbs based on shape, color and blooming times. Bulbs sold online and in nurseries show when you can expect blooms.
  • Prepare the soil as directed for your bulbs.
  • Plant according to directions.
  • Plan to plant more bulbs than you think you need…squirrels and chipmunks will dig up their share!

Pro Tip from the Professionals at Landfare Ltd.

Because we know an abundant display of spring flowers make the best impact, we take every effort to deter furry critters from digging up bulbs. After you prepare the planting bed and put the bulbs in place, cover the area with chicken wire. Tuck it in around the planting bed, then cover with soil. While not 100% effective, you will see really good results and more blooms in the spring.

Enticing Outdoor Living Spaces

After moving into their home a Westerville, OH couple realized that their backyard did not function for them. They love to throw large parties but the spaces weren’t setup properly. Plus the area that was established was in direct sunlight and was dominated by a stamped concrete side patio and uninspired deck.

After reviewing the work of several landscape design firms they knew that Landfare Ltd. could create the multi-level, entertaining oasis they wanted.  The design integrates seamlessly with the home, creating the perfect blend for entertaining.

The Evolution of Timeless Design

The Landfare Ltd. approach to design is very specific: we design and create outdoor living spaces that look and function beautifully, and transcend time or trend. Our motto, Capturing Nature Through Timeless Design™, tells the story of what we do.

When we begin creating a landscape design we consider the home’s architecture because we believe outdoor living spaces must enhance, not fight, with that architecture. We look at the home’s interior design and the choices the homeowners have made because we believe moving from indoors to outdoors should be a seamless transition.

The selection of hardscape materials like pavers and bricks should look as if they have been part of the home’s design from the beginning, not an afterthought. Pools, spas and water features should help create the ambiance not distract from it. Planting materials must work together to bring color and life to each season.

As homeowners update or renovate their homes, our landscape design evolves, too. New exterior structures, like garages or home additions, demand a thoughtful approach to enhancing the original landscape design. Through our long-term relationships with clients we are able to collaborate with them to create new outdoor living spaces and landscaping that evolve with the owner’s vision for their home.

Same Entrance with Redesigned Walkway and Landscaping

This home’s original landscape design, as seen on the left, was installed about 10 years ago, and continued to look very appealing. But the homeowners embarked on an extensive renovation that included an addition to the home. The new design, on the right, adds balance to the home’s architecture. The original gate and columns remain with a new bluestone paver walkway that leads directly to the front porch. The differences are substantial yet subtle, giving the home timeless curb appeal.

Just as interior design choices evolve, so do landscape designs. We think of it as a lovely symphony of design selections and professional installation that work together to create timeless outdoor environments for our clients. Each piece is carefully selected to ensure a beautiful finale!

Outdoor Entertaining Perfection

Planning the perfect outdoor entertaining area is a collaborative effort between the Landfare Ltd. design team and our clients. With so many details and options available, we want to be sure to customize the design to each clients lifestyle and needs.

For this active family, a multi-purpose pool and entertaining area were a must. The pool is setup for both swimming laps and energetic play from the kids in the family, including basketball hoop and diving board. Gysers spout under the pool umbrella to offer everyone a refreshing spray.

Walkways and entertaining spaces are made from cut limestone surrounded by illuminated hornbeam trees. French doors lead to a secluded patio for adult relaxation, including TV and settee seating. Optic fiber lighting under the patio coping makes this a wonderful spot to enjoy the evening.

Every detail – every material selected – is meticulously planned. Our build team executes it all perfectly. We want every client to say “this is exactly what we want.”
